<image:title>About - Hi, I’m Kirsten!</image:title>
<image:caption>My Background: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor registered with the State of Oregon, license C7531. I earned my masters in professional mental health counseling with a specialization in addictions from Lewis & Clark College and my bachelors in communications and psychology from Syracuse University in New York. My Experience: Prior to joining the counseling field, I spent 15 years as a public relations specialist working in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. As a therapist, I have 10 years of experience providing individual, group and family therapy to youth, adults and families in residential, outpatient, school-based and community mental health settings. I opened my private practice in March 2020. My areas of practice include relationship and family issues, life transitions, anxiety, grief/loss, parenting challenges, addiction and perfectionism. About Me: I am a mom to identical twin daughters who are settling into post-college life in various parts of the country. I love warm weather activities such as paddle boarding, walking my dog, traveling, reading in the sun and I am a big foodie. I am a native Eastside Portlander who spent 12 years on the east coast before returning to my roots, and an ally to BIPOC and LGBTQ communities. I’m a graduate of Irvington, Harriet Tubman and Grant public schools.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - My Approach to Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>The therapeutic relationship is essential to our work together. I offer a free 20-minute consultation (in-person to first timers to therapy) to ensure I’m the right fit for you. I provide a safe, nurturing, compassionate space for you to process, build skills and heal. I use authenticity, humor, directness, warmth and a strengths-based approach to help you identify your unique gifts (we all have them), and build resiliency and self-confidence. Through holistic and integrative practices such as attachment theory, Relational Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems and Somatic Therapy, I will help you create more capacity to navigate the hard stuff and develop strategies to better manage the stressors of your history, relationships and daily life.</image:caption>
