“You can’t change everything you face, but you can’t change anything until you face it.”

Therapy for teens, adults, couples and families in Portland and across Oregon.
Kirsten Kelly Chambers is a therapist in Portland offering counseling for teens, adults, couples and families. In-person sessions in Portland and TeleHealth available across Oregon.
Who I Work With: I work with preteens, teens, adults, couples and families and provide a safe, supportive and warm space. I work with people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, relationship issues, life transitions, grief and loss, parenting challenges, caring for aging parents and feelings of not being good enough. If you are facing any of these, you’ve come to the right place and I am here to support you.
What We Do: Together, we build an understanding of how your life experiences and patterns of behavior may be keeping you stuck. We help you make sense of these experiences, connect with yourself and gradually make changes. Therapy is an individualized process, which means I meet you where you are and offer a place to address your individual (or collective) needs and goals. I am an engaged, thoughtfully direct, and down-to-earth therapist who notices patterns that keep you idle and provides recommendations for you to grow.
My Belief: I believe we are all doing the best we can with what we know at the time. I also believe in the healing power of therapy, not only because it’s my chosen profession, but because of my own experiences on the other side of the client-therapist relationship. I integrate social justice and equity, making therapy more accessible for all. My practice is structured as private pay (meaning I accept credit cards), and I offer sliding scale spots for those experiencing financial hardship.

My Approach to Therapy
The therapeutic relationship is essential to our work together. I offer a free 20-minute consultation (in-person to first timers to therapy) to ensure I’m the right fit for you. I use authenticity, humor, directness, warmth and a strengths-based approach to help you identify your unique gifts (we all have them), and build resiliency and self-confidence. I integrate attachment theory, Relational Therapy, self compassion practices, Family Systems and Somatic Therapy and help you devise a plan for healing. I will help you create more capacity to navigate the hard stuff and develop strategies to better manage the stressors of your history, relationships and daily life.
