Hi, I’m Kirsten!
My Background: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) registered with the State of Oregon, license C7531. I earned my masters in professional mental health counseling with a specialization in addictions from Lewis & Clark College and my bachelors in communications and psychology from Syracuse University in New York. Prior to graduate school, I worked as an addiction counselor at a residential treatment facility for youth.
My Experience: Before joining the counseling field, I spent 15 years as a public relations specialist working in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. As a therapist, I have 10 years of experience providing individual and family therapy to youth, adults and families in residential, outpatient, school-based and community mental health settings. I opened my private practice in March 2020. My areas of practice include attachment ruptures, relationship and family issues, life transitions, anxiety, grief/loss, parenting challenges, addiction and perfectionism.
About Me: I am a mom to identical twin daughters who are pursuing their careers in various parts of the country. I love warm weather activities such as paddle boarding, walking my dog, traveling, reading in the sun and I am a big foodie. I am a native Eastside Portlander who spent 12 years on the east coast (New York City and DC) before returning to my roots, and an ally to BIPOC and LGBTQ communities. I’m a graduate of Irvington, Harriet Tubman and Grant public schools.
